Discover Misunderstood Medicine, a documentary aimed to help people see and understand medicinal cannabis and its use. Meet Dave from The People Who Cares. Together with CBD Crew, he explains his journey, share his opinion on why self-sufficiency is so-important, and why changes need to happen fast.
In 2015 myself and a woman called Katie Marsh were e-mailing after I had asked about re-selling her book “Juicing Cannabis for Healing“; a great new way for patients to receive their medicine. Because I was from Europe, Katie was keen to know the differences between America and Europe and if there was any information or documentaries about medical users and their needs. I had to unfortunately reply with a “no”.
Most existing films are only about prohibition and/or attacks on Governments or just about growing the biggest buds. These things do not help people on a level of getting the best medicine. So we started talking and e-mailing and I decided we should film a new style of documentary, with my heart aimed towards showing the truth.
I have traveled for a long time and lived in various countries. Meeting like-minded people has become quite easy for me. Growing up with a lifestyle like mine has helped me see past the people who dictate our lives at some point. Sometimes in life, you just have to see past the nonsense. Simply put: honesty doesn’t lie!
But imagine: you have worked hard, paid taxes, believed in life and yet, that day comes that you receive terrible news of an non-treatable symptom or ailment. One expects the best. It never comes, but then and only then, you realize you need help from the outside.
Through a great network of friends and businesses, I decided to approach various companies whom I have great belief in. The CBD Crew have become great friends now over the past few years, so naturally they wanted to help to explain and show different people the way of self-sufficiency.
March 9th, 2016, I was off to Spain: Spannabis! One word for that event, well maybe two… Holy Sh*t! The people, the booths, everything was amazing. Biobizz had a wonderful set up, there were picnic benches and the place was alive with a great atmosphere.
I introduced myself, we had a brief chat and they really liked the idea and story. After about 10 minutes of talking and explaining the goal behind the film, showing the people the real world of Medical Cannabis and the need for self-sufficiency, but most importantly: using the right products for great success. Fully organic and certified (testing and certificates are everything) products are extremely good products to use. Even as part of Mighty Irish Seeds, our head grower Baba Ji says: “we ONLY use Biobizz”.
A few weeks passed and between our final questions and concerns, we were nearly ready to go. In the meantime, I had approached the owner of Smart Pot for help and support. He was more than delighted to also join in the project. After finalizing our cooperation’s all equipment for the documentaries’ candidates were in: Biobizz care packages with soil and nutrients, Smart Pots all round, the CBD crew seeds for Medical use tips and Storz and Bickle products for safe, precise consumption. We were set.
Two people from America were on board, Alyx and Warren. Ireland had its own candidates to help explain their stories. Spain had two candidates, but that changed as the production went on.
The aim was to show people from all around the world looking for the same thing. Help where none was. Most candidates had either a few months to live or were helping someone who was about to pass away. This is no way to learn how something that can treat, prevent and even prolong a life. People need to see the truth and accept the world we live in is flawed and needs change. FAST change.
By each person documenting their own lives, we tried to show the reality of medical cannabis growers and that the typical idea of a grower is completely wrong. Most are the nicest, kindest and truly fantastic people to meet. The “system” only sees the negative and not positive. We need change, but for that to happen we needed to show and explain.
Like I said and will always say: working together is the way forward, thinking you are on your own is not true. There are so many people who share a vision, idea and goal to try help others. Keep looking, supporting and thinking of others. It will happen. I’m proof of that. When you get help, support and belief from companies. Everything is possible. “Keep it Green and Clean”
